# October 1, 2026

> Deepgram Self-Hosted release 261001 adds watermarking to Flux TTS audio, removes Whisper support, brings the FIPS Engine metric and certificate surface in line with the standard images, and improves Japanese and German formatting.

## Deepgram Self-Hosted October 2026 Release (261001)

### Container Images (release 261001)

* `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-api:release-261001`
  * Equivalent image to:
    * `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-api:1.192.51`

* `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-engine:release-261001`
  * Equivalent image to:
    * `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-engine:3.135.0`

  * Minimum required NVIDIA driver version: `>=580`, **open** kernel module flavor. See [Drivers and Containerization Platforms](/docs/drivers-and-containerization-platforms) for installation and verification steps.

* `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-license-proxy:release-261001`
  * Equivalent image to:
    * `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-license-proxy:1.11.1-1`

* `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-billing:release-261001`
  * Equivalent image to:
    * `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-billing:1.14.0-3`

### FIPS 140-3 Images

FIPS 140-3 images are available for all four self-hosted services, published under the `-fips` tag suffix:

* `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-api:release-261001-fips`
  * Equivalent image to:
    * `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-api:1.192.51-fips`

* `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-engine:release-261001-fips`
  * Equivalent image to:
    * `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-engine:3.135.0-fips`

* `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-license-proxy:release-261001-fips`
  * Equivalent image to:
    * `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-license-proxy:1.11.1-1-fips`

* `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-billing:release-261001-fips`
  * Equivalent image to:
    * `quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-billing:1.14.0-3-fips`

These images run OpenSSL's FIPS 140-3 validated cryptographic provider. Enable FIPS by setting `[fips] mode = "enabled"` in each service's configuration. FIPS mode should be enabled only on the `-fips` images; the standard images do not include the FIPS provider. See [FIPS-Compliant Deployment](/docs/fips-compliant-deployment) for setup and configuration details.

### This Release Contains The Following Changes

* **Flux TTS Watermarking (action required)** — Flux TTS audio is now watermarked. Flux TTS deployments must add the watermarker model file (`watermarker.<uuid>.dgv2`, provisioned alongside your Flux TTS models) and set `watermarker_uuid` under `[flux_tts]` in your Engine configuration. Engine will not start with Flux TTS enabled if the watermarker is missing. Helm users must set `fluxTts.watermarkerUuid`: chart upgrades, including `helm upgrade --reuse-values`, fail at render time until it is set. See [Watermarking](/docs/deploy-flux-tts#watermarking) for details.
* **Removed Whisper Support** — Engine no longer supports Whisper models. Deployments using Whisper should migrate to Nova-3 before upgrading.
* **FIPS Image Metrics and Certificates** — Engine FIPS images now report metrics with the `engine_` prefix and serve `/v1/certificates` correctly, matching the standard images.
* **Formatting Improvements**
  * [Numerals](/docs/numerals) formatting now supports Japanese (`language=ja`), with either `numerals=true` or `smart_format=true`.
  * Spoken letters are no longer dropped from entities that are mostly numbers. For example, "W one two three" is now transcribed as `W123` instead of `123`.
  * Improved Aura-2 reading of German numbers, dates, and measurements, and of Japanese numbers, dates, and currency.
* **General Improvements** — security fixes in the API base image and dependency updates. Keeps our software up-to-date.
