Deepgram Self-Hosted October 2026 Release (261020)

Container Images (release 261020)

  • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-api:release-261020

    • Equivalent image to:
      • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-api:1.192.55
  • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-engine:release-261020

    • Equivalent image to:

      • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-engine:3.140.1
    • Minimum required NVIDIA driver version: >=580, open kernel module flavor. See Drivers and Containerization Platforms for installation and verification steps.

  • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-license-proxy:release-261020

    • Equivalent image to:
      • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-license-proxy:1.11.2
  • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-billing:release-261020

    • Equivalent image to:
      • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-billing:1.15.1

FIPS 140-3 Images

FIPS 140-3 images are available for all four self-hosted services, published under the -fips tag suffix:

  • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-api:release-261020-fips

    • Equivalent image to:
      • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-api:1.192.55-fips
  • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-engine:release-261020-fips

    • Equivalent image to:
      • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-engine:3.140.1-fips
  • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-license-proxy:release-261020-fips

    • Equivalent image to:
      • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-license-proxy:1.11.2-fips
  • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-billing:release-261020-fips

    • Equivalent image to:
      • quay.io/deepgram/self-hosted-billing:1.15.1-fips

These images run OpenSSL’s FIPS 140-3 validated cryptographic provider. Enable FIPS by setting [fips] mode = "enabled" in each service’s configuration. FIPS mode should be enabled only on the -fips images; the standard images do not include the FIPS provider. See FIPS-Compliant Deployment for setup and configuration details.

This Release Contains The Following Changes

  • New Flux STT Runtime (action required) — Engine now runs Flux STT on a new runtime that loads only the .dgv2 Flux model files, for both flux-general-en and flux-general-multi. The new runtime does not use previously delivered .dg Flux model files: with only a .dg file present and [flux] enabled, Engine exits at startup with Can't find Flux model. Request the new model file from your Deepgram Account Representative before upgrading. Your [flux] configuration otherwise stays the same; a runtime key under [flux] is no longer used and can be removed. To keep the previous Flux runtime, stay on an Engine image from release-261001 or earlier. See Using the Flux Model for details.
  • Mid-Stream Keyterm Updates for Nova-3 — replace the keyterms on an active /v1/listen stream without reconnecting, by sending a keyterms array in a Configure message. This works on all Nova-3 streaming models, including multilingual (language=multi) and Nova-3 Medical. Each keyterms array replaces the full list, and [] clears it. See Dynamic Keyterm Updates for details.
    • Every Configure receives exactly one ConfigureSuccess or ConfigureFailure response. ConfigureSuccess lists the keyterms now in effect.
    • A rejected update, such as one over the keyterm limits, keeps the stream open with its previous keyterms.
    • Send one Configure at a time. One sent while another is pending returns CONFIGURE_ALREADY_PENDING.
  • Upgrade API and Engine Together — API now relies on Engine to confirm mid-stream Configure updates on /v1/listen. Paired with an Engine from an earlier release, API rejects each Nova-3 Configure after a 15-second wait. Upgrade both services to release-261020 at the same time.
  • Flux Force End Turn Always Available — the ForceEndTurn control message now works on every /v2/listen stream. The listen_v2_force_end_turn setting under [features] in your API configuration is no longer needed and is ignored if present.
  • Formatting Improvements
    • Nova-3 Multilingual (language=multi) now converts numbers to numerals in languages other than English. Previously only English numbers were converted.
    • Spoken digit runs in money amounts now use the last two digits as cents. For example, “eight five six eight” is now formatted as $85.68 instead of $856.08.
    • Improved Aura-2 reading of Dutch numbers and digits, and of Portuguese measurements and abbreviations.
    • Flux TTS no longer adds extra syllables when text contains em-dashes or repeated hyphens.
  • Streaming Reliability — fixed /v1/listen streams with entity formatting or redaction going silent during continuous speech and closing with a NET-0000 timeout.
  • Media Handling
    • Engine no longer crashes on MP4 or MOV files that contain 24-bit PCM audio, or on malformed AV1 and H.266 (VVC) video.
    • Improved audio quality for 8 kHz output, including Flux TTS.
    • The DV video format is no longer supported.
  • General Improvements — Engine base image updated to Rocky Linux 10, security fixes in Billing, and dependency updates. Keeps our software up-to-date.
